The button maker is a simple tool for making 1.5" pinback buttons.

A membership or day pass is required to access Digital Media.

The button maker does not require a machine reservation and is available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
• Sturdy, close-toed shoes must be worn at all times.
• Long hair, jewelry, and loose clothing must be tied back.
Keep your fingers out of the dies!
¶ Step-by-Step Guide
¶ Load Materials into Pick Up Station (Die A)
The pick up station is the one with the mostly flat bottom with one concentric step in it.
From first in to last in:
- Button shell with the sharp edges down
- Design. Make sure the design is facing you.
- Cover
- Rotate the tray so that the Pick Up Station is under the upper die
- Pull lever arm firmly. The upper die will pick up the materials in the die and hold them.
¶ Load Crimp Die (Die B)
The crimp die is the deeper one with several concentric steps in it.
- Place pin back into crimp die, sharp edge up.
- Roatate the tray so that the Crimp Die is under the upper die.
- Pull lever arm firmly.
- Remove completed button from Crimp Die.

All machine maintenance pages are only accessible to Staff. All machine maintenance is only to be done by Staff.
