There are two stages to removing a workpiece from the ShopBot and cleaning up. First, the surface should be vacuumed to make removing the workpiece easier, and the workpiece removed. Then, the wasteboard should be vacuumed, any waste material and debris removed, and the machine and floor should be vacuumed.
You can make machine reservations in the following ways:
With the crescent wrench in your left hand and the spanner wrench in your right hand align the teeth of the spanner wrench with the grooves of the chuck. Align the crescent wrench with the flats of the spindle above the chuck.
With both wrenches aligned squeeze towords yourself to loosen the collet.
Dust off collet and bit with the compressed air gun.
Return chuck and collet to the Digital Fabrication toolchest.
Save all files to a personal flash drive and delete the files off of the computer.
Remove piece carefully. If it is nailed down, you may have to pry it up. Remove any waste material and debris from the bed.
Place all small material and dust in the trash. Any scrap larger than a trash can must be broken down and placed in the dumpster outside.
Suitable scrap can also be donated to the Digital Fabrication scrap bin for member use.
Trim tabs off of the workpiece and remove any remaining nylon nails with the designated chisels and mallets.
Let a Community Technician know if the wasteboard needs to be resurfaced.
Use a shop vac to vacuum the surrounding area.
You have succesffully cleaned up after completing a project!
