- Piece of paper, the thinnest you've got.
- Make sure that the build plate is clean, free of debris, and securely attached to the print bed.
- Make sure that the nozzle is free of any filament build up. If there is build up, heat the nozzle and then gently wipe off the built up filament.
- Press the control knob and scroll to the "Prepare" menu. Click to select.
- Scroll to "Auto Home". Click to select. The hot end will move to the left front of the bed and stop.
- Press the control knob and scroll to the "Prepare" menu. Click to select.
- Scroll to "Disable Steppers" and click to select. This will make it easy to move the bed back and forth.
- Next, turn each of the four leveling wheels counter-clockwise to lower the bed. The purpose of this is to make sure that the bed is lower than the nozzle tip and one or two turns should be sufficient if the bed has been leveled before.
Clockwise (looking from above) moves the bed up.
- If the nozzle is not already there, move the nozzle so that it’s positioned over the bottom left adjustment screw of the bed.
- Slide the paper between the nozzle and the bed.
- Slowly raise the corner with the adjuster. As you do this, gently slide the paper back and forth. The moment you feel the slightest resistance to your moving the paper, stop turning the knob.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for the remaining three corners of the build plate.
When moving the nozzle around, move it slowly and make sure that it does not collide with the build plate by adjusting the screw at the corner it is going to. Collisions damage the nozzle and the build plate.
- Repeat steps 1-4 again to verify your work.
