¶ Maintenance
Any dust bunnies or clots of lint should be removed from the machine when sighted. Use tweezers to pluck them out or a brush to brush them out.
Look for lint and dust in:
- bobbin case
- shuttle race
- under throat plate
- around feed dogs
- around any moving parts when the throat plate, face plate, or other covers are opened or removed.
When the oil level goes below the LOW mark, refill the oil pan.
- How to open the oil pan??
- Fill oil pan with oil up to HIGH mark.
- Close oil pan
When you operate the machine after lubrication, you will see splashing oil through oil sight window if the lubrication is adequate.
Note that the amount of splashing oil is unrelated to the amount of the lubricating oil.
- Open face plate cover removing the small screws.
- Adjust the amount of oil supplied to the thread take-up and needle bar crank by turning the adjustment pin.
- Close face plate cover.

If the amount of oil is too little, the hook will get hot and seize.
If the amount of oil is too much, the sewing product may be stained with oil.
- Remove slide plate. Don't touch the hook.
- Adjust the amount of oil supplied by using a screw driver to turn the adjustment screw attached on the hook driving shaft front bushing.

- Check the oil flow by
4.1 place paper underneath the assembly bobbin race assembly.
4.2 Run machine for 5 seconds.
4.3 Measure width of oil stripe on the paper. It should be 1-3mm. Do this three times, with fresh paper each time. The width of the stripe should not change between the tests.
- Close slide plate.
Possible causes
- Needle not correctly oriented- remove and replace needle, making sure that the scarf is facing to the right.
- Dull needle- remove and replace needle with fresh needle.
- Top thread visible on bottom
1.1 increase tension on top.
1.2 check bobbin tension.
- Bottom thread visible on top
2.1 decrease tension on top.
2.2 check bobbin tension.
Possible causes
- Make sure to insert needle halfway into fabric before starting the machine.
- Not enough length on threads when starting the seam- press in on knee pad and pull both threads to the right a few inches.
- Hold the threads against the table with one hand when starting the seam. After a few stitches, release them.
Dull needle- remove and replace needle with fresh needle.
